India, Sept. 16 -- Akbar Abdullaev wasted virtually no time making his case for a place in the UFC. The undefeated Kyrgyzstani prospect faced Ednilson Barros Santos in a lightweight bout during Week 6 of the 2026 Dana White's Contender Series in Las Vegas on September 15. Abdullaev needed just 19 seconds to end the contest, landing a devastating right hand that sent Santos crashing to the canvas and immediately earned him a UFC contract. UFC CEO Dana White was particularly impressed, reportedly describing the 28-year-old as potentially the best prospect to appear on the show during its 10-year history.
