India, Aug. 25 -- James Blunt has been pulled into online speculation surrounding a disturbing incident Hayden Panettiere described in her memoir, This Is Me: A Reckoning. The singer has now appeared to push back against the claims by sharing journalist Dean Piper's article. He argued that the timeline does not support the theory that Blunt was the man Panettiere described.

Panettiere, who died at 36 on August 16, had spoken publicly about the incident during a May appearance on Jay Shetty's On Purpose podcast. In her memoir, she recalled being 18 when a trusted female friend took her onto a yacht and led her into a small cabin, where she found an undressed, "very famous" British singer-songwriter in his thirties.
