India, Sept. 29 -- A massive statewide manhunt is currently underway in Kentucky following the fatal shooting of a state trooper along a major interstate highway on Monday afternoon. Trooper Hayden Phillips was killed in the line of duty while conducting routine patrols along northbound Interstate 65 in Warren County, just north of Bowling Green, according to reports.

The tragic incident, which state law enforcement officials have characterised as a severe attack on police personnel, prompted an immediate Blue Alert as authorities desperately search for an armed suspect who fled the active crime scene.
