India, July 10 -- Legendary American pilot Wally Funk, who has been pursuing her dream of going to space for over six decades, has passed away at the age of 87. She gained fame for being part of the group known as Mercury 13. Funk realized her dream of going into space when she went on a trip into outer space using Blue Origin's spacecraft at the age of 82 in 2021. She had over 30,000 flight hours and taught over 3,000 pilots during her 70-year career in aviation.
