India, June 15 -- The divorce proceedings between Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and former actor Vijay and his estranged wife Sangeetha Sornalingam saw another major development on Monday, as the Chengalpattu Mahila Court adjourned the hearing to August 7.

30 am, with both Vijay and Sangeetha appearing before the court as directed earlier. However, the session ended without any major decisions or progress, keeping the high-profile case open.

This was the first time both Vijay and Sangeetha appeared in person after missing the earlier hearing on April 20. Their absence at the previous hearing had led the Chengalpattu family court to order their mandatory appearance on June 15.
