India, March 22 -- The 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections 2026 are shaping up to be a high-stakes contest, with nearly 5.67 crore voters deciding between the two dominant Dravidian parties-the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) and the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK)-or giving space to a disruptive new entrant, actor-turned-politician Vijay's Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK).
