India, Aug. 12 -- Venice will get a dramatic partial solar eclipse on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, when the Moon passes across the Sun and the global event is a total solar eclipse, but Venice sits outside the narrow path of totality.
The city will nevertheless see a deep partial eclipse. At maximum, the eclipse will reach a magnitude of 0.925, with about 91.27% of the Sun obscured. The partial phase begins at 7:27 pm CEST, reaches maximum at 8:19 pm, and ends at about 8:22 pm. The short window around maximum is particularly important because the Sun is very close to the horizon.
