India, Aug. 6 -- Uttarakhand School Holiday Today (August 06): Monsoon rainfalls have again interrupted the routine activities of people in the state of Uttarakhand. In the wake of the Orange Alert from the IMD (India Meteorological Department), the administration of the Dehradun district decided to shut down schools and Anganwadi centers for a day on Wednesday, August 6, as a safety measure. Student safety has been given priority because of the forecasted rains, lightning, and the risk of landslides nearly 80% of the rainfall in Uttarakhand takes place during the southwest monsoon season.
