India, July 9 -- Heavy to very heavy rainfall continues to impact several parts of Uttarakhand, promoting the regional authorities to take precautionary measures to safeguard residents. Amid unsettled weather conditions, schools have been in multiple districts after the weather department, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issued the 'red' and 'orange' alert across several parts in the state. The decision has been taken to ensure public safety including students, parents, and locals from rain-related hazards, including waterlogging, landslide and disruptions to transport services.
