India, Aug. 4 -- Uttarakhand has been dealing with flash floods and landslides due to immense rainfall recently. Now, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for the hilly state, amidst ongoing stormy conditions.

IMD's Recent Forecast

In its recent forecast, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) warned of light to moderate rain in Uttarakhand and issued a yellow alert.

Compared to red and orange alerts (previously active), a yellow alert is not very concerning and generally indicates light to moderate rainfall. However, the forecaster warned that Uttarakhand and its neighbouring state of Himachal Pradesh will continue to face rainfall over the next 6 days.
