India, May 21 -- The Uttar Pradesh government announced a 2 per cent hike in dearness allowance (DA) and dearness relief (DR) for all state government employees and pensioners. This new rate will be implemented from January 1, 2026. Now, the DA component has increased to 60 per cent, which was 58 per cent earlier.

As per reports, the latest DA is likely to be implemented from May 2026 and will start reflecting in salaries credited in June. This latest move aims to increase the in-hand salary of state government employees. This decision will impact around 16 lakh Uttar Pradesh government employees, teachers, and pensioners.
