India, Sept. 13 -- The United States have once again reached the FIBA Women's World Cup final, but their route to a fifth straight championship game was far from straightforward. The Americans overcame Spain 76-66 in Saturday's semifinal after struggling to find their rhythm for much of the contest. With the score tied at 58 entering the fourth quarter, the U.S. finally found its spark, producing a 12-2 run to move 70-60 ahead with 5:20 remaining and then holding off Spain's late challenge. The victory extended the Americans' remarkable World Cup winning streak to 35 games and moved them within one victory of a fifth consecutive title, which would equal the former Soviet Union's record.
