India, Sept. 20 -- US President Donald Trump announced on Saturday that he is forming an "AI Force" modelled on the Space Force he created during his first term, and said he would soon name a new artificial intelligence czar to oversee the rapidly growing industry.

The announcement, posted in a lengthy statement on Truth Social, came as the administration faces mounting pressure from lawmakers, researchers and even some of the sector's own executives to introduce stronger safeguards around the technology's development.
