Trump announced the order on Truth Social shortly after Parton's family confirmed her passing, writing that her death was "a true loss for millions of people." Flags began flying at half-staff across the United States from 6pm on Tuesday and will remain lowered for one week, the president said, adding that "there has never been anyone like her, and never will."
