India, Aug. 25 -- Two US Air Force refuelling tankers have left Bulgaria's Bezmer Air Base, ending a deployment that had drawn direct threats from Iran, Bulgarian Defence Minister Dimitar Stoyanov confirmed on Saturday.

The two Boeing KC-135 Stratotankers departed on Friday, weeks ahead of their authorised return date of 1 October, closing out a deployment that had run for barely three weeks since the aircraft first arrived in Bulgaria on 31 July.
