India, July 5 -- Iran has reportedly put extensive emergency and logistical measures in place ahead of the funeral ceremony for former Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, amid expectations of unprecedented public turnout. A report by German newspaper WELT claims that Iranian authorities are preparing for the possibility of between 1,500 & 3,000 deaths due to overcrowding and extreme summer heat during the week-long funeral ceremonies.

The plans include emergency medical response teams and additional burial arrangements. However, these claims have not been independently verified, and Iranian authorities have not officially confirmed the reported preparations.
