India, Aug. 27 -- Yemeni naval forces belonging to the internationally recognized government have seized a traditional dhow vessel off the coast of al-Makha (Mocha) in the Red Sea. The vessel was intercepted while carrying smuggled equipment used to manufacture drones.

Yemen's Navy Seized Red Sea Vessel

The operation took place on Wednesday evening, August 26, 2026. Yemen's navy intercepted the dhow within the strategically vital international shipping lanes of the Red Sea.

According to Yemeni naval officials, the drone-making components were smuggled by Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). The cargo was explicitly bound for the Houthi rebels in northern Yemen.
