India, Aug. 10 -- The United States has deployed more than 20 warships to the Middle East as Washington intensifies enforcement of its blockade against Iran, amid rising tensions over the Strait of Hormuz. US Central Command (CENTCOM) said the forces are supporting military missions in the region, including the enforcement of the blockade. The development comes as Iran and Oman reportedly move closer to an agreement aimed at restoring commercial shipping through the strategic waterway.
