India, Sept. 2 -- At least five people were killed and more than 50 others injured after a US airstrike struck a residential property where a wedding celebration was underway in southern Iran, according to Iranian authorities. The attack took place in Kuhestak in Sirik County, Hormozgan province, near the strategically important Strait of Hormuz. A four-year-old child was among those killed.

Iranian officials condemned the strike, with the Foreign Ministry linking it to a wider series of civilian deaths during the ongoing conflict.
