India, Sept. 8 -- US President Donald Trump has forecast a sharp decline in oil prices if the ongoing conflict with Iran comes to an end in favour of the United States. He suggested that petrol prices in the US could eventually fall below $2 per gallon. Trump made the remarks in a post on Truth Social, linking the current rise in energy costs to the conflict in the Middle East.

He also reiterated Washington's position that Iran must not be allowed to develop a nuclear weapon.
