India, Sept. 25 -- The US Senate on Friday voted against a measure that would have required the withdrawal of American forces from hostilities against Iran unless Congress separately authorised the military action. The resolution, H. Con. Res. 89, was defeated 50-49, according to the official Senate floor summary. Its failure means the measure will not advance after previously passing the House.
