India, May 30 -- Amidst talks of a peace deal between the United States and Iran, in a move that brews another round of conflict, Iran has completely closed its airspace without any official Notice to Airmen (NOTAM). Most airlines, mostly from Europe and the Americas, have avoided flying directly over Iran even before the closure due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.
What Happened?
Before the complete closure, Iran's airspace was partially open under strict "recovery period" rules, but a total ban remained on western sectors and international airlines were actively avoiding the region.
