India, April 17 --  A major development in West Asia has triggered a wave of strong reactions from Donald Trump, who posted a series of messages online after Iran confirmed that the Strait of Hormuz would remain open for commercial shipping during the ongoing ceasefire period.

The announcement came shortly after Iran's top diplomat, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, said that the waterway would stay open in line with the ceasefire arrangements linked to tensions involving Lebanon. The decision eased fears of major disruption to global oil and cargo shipments, as the Strait of Hormuz remains one of the world's most important trade routes.
