India, Aug. 11 -- The US State Department has found that Pakistan failed to meet Washington's minimum fiscal transparency requirements for 2026, citing limited disclosure of government and state-owned enterprise debt and inadequate parliamentary or civilian oversight of military and intelligence budgets.

The finding is contained in the State Department's 2026 Fiscal Transparency Report, which assesses governments based on the availability, completeness and reliability of public financial information. The review covered the period from 1 January to 31 December 2025.
