India, July 9 -- All schools up to Class 12 in Ghaziabad will remain closed on July 9 after heavy rainfall caused waterlogging across the district. The decision was taken by the district administration following an orange alert issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) for heavy rain. Ghaziabad District Magistrate Ravindra Kumar Mandhad ordered the closure of all schools from Class 1 to Class 12 after continuous rainfall since Wednesday evening led to waterlogging in several parts of the district. The decision was taken to ensure the safety of students as heavy rain is expected to continue.
