India, June 29 -- The Uttar Pradesh government has issued a detailed heatwave safety guideline for schools before the new academic session begins. The Basic Education Department has asked all schools to take preventive steps to protect students from extreme heat by ensuring safe classrooms, drinking water, first aid facilities and awareness programmes. The aim of these guidelines is to help teachers understand the signs of heat exhaustion and heat stroke, provide first aid when needed, and teach students how to stay safe during hot weather.
