India, Sept. 10 -- United Airlines has abandoned plans to send a passenger jet escorted by four fighter aircraft over Denver to mark the 25th anniversary of the September 11 attacks, after city officials raised the alarm that the display could be mistaken for a real emergency and swamp local dispatch lines with panicked calls. The airline confirmed the U-turn on Wednesday afternoon, just two days before the flyover had been due to take place over the Colorado capital.
