India, Oct. 11 -- Britain is preparing for a hard winter ahead with fears of flooding, extended drought and storms. Many areas of England are still in drought after a very hot and dry summer, and heavy autumn and winter rain could increase the risk of flooding. The government has established a Flood and Drought Resilience Taskforce to meet for the first time on October 14, 2026, to help the country better prepare for extreme weather.
