India, Sept. 13 -- A late burst of summer could give parts of the UK one more taste of warmth next week, with London forecast to reach 25degC on Monday, September 14, as rain gradually retreats from much of the country. The brief rise in temperatures will mainly benefit southern England, while northern and central areas face a more unsettled weekend before conditions turn cooler from Tuesday.

The change comes just weeks after the UK recorded its hottest summer on record, with the Met Office putting the average temperature for June, July and August at 16.5degC.
