India, May 21 -- The migration has dropped by an estimated 171,000 last year, which marks the lowest level of numbers in the UK immigration since the COVID-19 pandemic began. According to the Office for National Statistics, the latest figures represent a 48% fall from the previous year, which is 331,000.

This estimate is the first time that it has fallen below 200,000 since the coronavirus started.

The decline in UK immigration is being driven by fewer people from outside the EU who arrive in the UK for work. According to the report, some 813,000 people are expected to have arrived in the UK in 2025, while 642,000 have left.
