India, June 16 -- Federal authorities say they prevented a planned attack aimed at the UFC Freedom 250 event held on the White House grounds after a multi-state investigation led to several arrests. The alleged plot, which investigators say involved drones and sniper attacks, was uncovered days before the high-profile event took place in Washington, D.C.

According to FBI Director Kash Patel, law enforcement agencies became aware of a potential threat on June 10 and quickly launched an operation involving federal, state and local partners. Officials say the effort resulted in multiple suspects being taken into custody before any attack could be carried out.
