India, Aug. 19 -- The United Arab Emirates has suspended all trade, commercial exchanges and financial transactions with Iran until further notice, as tensions in the region continue to escalate. The announcement came after the UAE accused Iran of launching two ballistic missiles towards shipping in the Gulf, a claim Tehran rejected.

UAE Foreign Ministry communications director Afra Al Hameli said the decision was taken "in light of regional escalations". She announced that all trade, commercial exchanges and financial transactions with Iran had been halted until further notice.
