India, Aug. 26 -- A powerful storm called Typhoon Narra recently made landfall in Vietnam & China. Now, the typhoon has caused mass evacuations of over 60,000 people in the Asian countries. The impact has been particularly worse for the flood prone regions of South China.
What is Typhoon Narra?
Typhoon Narra is a tropical storm that developed over the South China Sea/Beibu Gulf in late August. It made landfall on August 25, 2026 and ushered in torrential rain in Southern China and Northern Vietnam, causing widespread flash floods. In some parts of Vietnam, around 300 mm of rain was reported in just 24 hours .
