India, April 25 -- FBI Director Kash Patel is facing intensified scrutiny this week after investigative reports surfaced detailing two past arrests for alcohol-related offences. 

The revelations come as Patel is already embroiled in a high-stakes legal battle with The Atlantic over allegations of erratic behaviour, unexplained absence and excessive drinking during his tenure as head of the bureau.

On Friday, The Intercept cited a 2005 Florida Bar Disclosure Statement in which Patel, 46, admitted to being arrested twice while a student.
