India, Sept. 28 -- Trump Iowa Steel Plant Project: A major new steel project is set to put Iowa at the centre of the US push to expand domestic manufacturing, with President Donald Trump preparing to announce a $15 billion investment by Mesabi Metallics. The Minnesota-based company plans to build a large steel mill in Iowa and connect it with its newly opened iron-ore operation in northern Minnesota.

The project is expected to begin steel production in 2030 and could eventually produce up to 10 million tons of steel each year, while creating thousands of jobs during construction and 1,750 permanent positions in Iowa.
