India, Sept. 19 -- US President Donald Trump announced on Friday that the United States has reached an agreement with Denmark and Greenland granting Washington what he described as "permanent control" over the Arctic territory's security, addressing what he called "ALL of our many US concerns."

The announcement, posted to Trump's Truth Social platform, represents the culmination of months of negotiations that began after Trump repeatedly threatened to acquire Greenland outright, by force if necessary, earlier in the year.
