India, Sept. 20 -- The 51st Toronto International Film Festival has announced its 2026 winners with Javier Calvo and Javier Ambrossi's La Bola Negra taking the coveted People's Choice Award presented by Rogers. The Spanish queer drama emerged as the top audience choice at this year's festival.

The TIFF awards were announced during a press conference at TIFF Lightbox with 12 awards presented across several categories. The honours included the People's Choice Awards, Platform Prize, Canadian feature film awards, Short Cuts awards, FIPRESCI Prize and NETPAC Award.
