The Diabetes problem: Craving sugar in a flood of sugar
India, June 21 -- India has the largest total number of people living with diabetes in the world, at 101 million Indian adults, 11.4% of the adult population. As per the Lancet study, 212 million people suffer from diabetes globally. In India, urban areas see a much higher concentration (~16.4%) compared to rural areas (~8.9%). Another 136 million Indians are estimated to currently live with prediabetes. Hence, diabetes is a massive burden on us and our healthcare system. Diabetes can be prevented/reversed/reduced if we change our lifestyle and diet.
