India, May 24 -- Telangana is facing a severe heatwave, and due to this, at least 16 people reportedly died from heat-related problems on Friday across seven districts in the state. The state government has issued an alert across Telangana after the India Meteorological Department (IMD) warned that the intense heat is likely to continue for the next three days.

According to disaster management officials, four deaths were reported in Jayashankar Bhupalpally district, while Hanumakonda, Karimnagar and Nizamabad recorded three deaths each. One death each was reported from Jogulamba Gadwal, Rangareddy and Suryapet districts.
