India, Sept. 28 -- Taylor Swift has once again given Swifties plenty to decode. Her Patient Zero music video premiered during the 2026 MTV VMAs on September 27, two days after the song arrived as one of four new tracks on The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore. The video stars Swift alongside Dakota Johnson and Colin Farrell, with Swift directing and Oscar-winning cinematographer Emmanuel Lubezki behind the camera.

The video turns the song's story about an ex warning her former partner's new girlfriend into a gothic murder mystery. Johnson plays the new girlfriend, Farrell plays her husband and Swift appears as the ghost of the woman who came before her.
