India, Oct. 20 -- Taiwan's stock market closed lower on Tuesday as selling pressure pushed the benchmark TAIEX down 1.78% to 46,270.95. Market breadth remained weak, with 720 stocks declining against 279 advancing, while 122 shares ended unchanged.

The index retreated from an intraday high of 46,967.91 and finished close to its session low of 46,260.55.

Top Gainers And Losers On Taiwan Stock Market

iCatch Technology rose 10% to close at 56.10, while Foxwell Power and Flexium Interconnect gained 9.96% each, ending at 27.05 and 88.30, respectively. On the losing side, H2U Corp plunged 9.54% to 17.55, hitting an all-time low. Formosa Petrochemical declined 8.19% to 106.50, while Sino Horizon Holdings fell 7.71% to 24.55.
