India, Aug. 20 -- A house fire in Swansea, in NSW's Lake Macquarie region, has left one child dead and an elderly woman seriously injured. Emergency services were called to the property on Northcote Avenue at about 1.30pm after the home caught fire. A woman in her 80s and two young children were inside when the blaze broke out.

What Happened In The Swansea House Fire?

Firefighters and other emergency crews arrived to find the property engulfed in flames. During a subsequent search of the house, emergency responders located one of the children. NSW Police said the child could not be revived. The second child managed to get out of the burning property and was not reported to have suffered injuries.
