India, Sept. 28 -- Sumit Nagal will face South Korea's Seongchan Hong in the men's singles second round at the Asian Games 2026 on Monday, September 28 at the Higashiyama Park Tennis Center.

The 29-year-old Indian tennis star comes into the Asian Games just after representing India in the Davis Cup Qualifiers against South Korea in Seoul. India lost the tie 3-1 on September 19, with Nagal playing both of his singles matches.

In his opening singles rubber, Nagal pushed former world No. 19 Hyeon Chung through a three-hour contest but eventually lost 6-2, 4-6, 5-7.
