India, July 30 -- Former Chennai Super Kings coach Stephen Fleming is likely to be appointed as England national cricket team's Test head coach. The ex-New Zealand captain has built a decorated resume, having piloted CSK to five Indian Premier League (IPL) titles. After Brendon McCullum was axed from the role, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) was on the hunt for a new face. As per recent reports, Fleming is the frontrunner to take over the helm of England Test cricket.

The ECB aims for a leadership transition after a string of underwhelming results. While McCullum was fired, Ben Stokes retired from Test cricket earlier this month. The former Kiwi batter, however, remains in charge of the white-ball units.
