India, Aug. 30 -- A deadly gunfight in Columbia, South Carolina, left 29-year-old Columbia Police Officer Christopher DeLong dead and another officer injured on Saturday, August 29. The suspect, 33-year-old Adam Tyler Dowdy, was also killed in the exchange of gunfire, according to police.

The incident unfolded after officers responded to a domestic dispute call. Police later encountered a man and vehicle matching the description provided by the woman who had made the initial report.
