India, July 5 -- Shohei Ohtani was left out of the Los Angeles Dodgers' starting lineup on Saturday, as expected, after leaving Friday's game early because of tightness in his right biceps. The move was described as a precaution, allowing the two-way star time to recover before returning to action.

After undergoing treatment, Ohtani reportedly felt "considerably better," according to manager Dave Roberts. While he did not start against the San Diego Padres, Roberts said Ohtani could still be used as a pinch-hitter if needed in a key moment. The Dodgers are also optimistic that he will be back in the lineup for Sunday's series finale.
