India, June 17 -- Another jolt for Shiv Sena (UBT), one of Maharashtra's leading opposition parties, is facing renewed speculation about a possible split. There are reports which suggest six to seven Lok Sabha MPs of the party are reportedly planning to move to the Shiv Sena faction led by Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.

The rumours gained momentum when only four MPs showed up in a meeting called by Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray on Sunday. There are several other virtual meetings, while one MP reportedly spoke to Thackeray over the phone. The development has sparked debate about the party's internal stability, especially after the dramatic 2022 split has reshaped Maharashtra politics.
