India, Sept. 16 -- Sensex Today, September 16, 2026: The Indian stock market bounced back on Wednesday, September 16, following the huge selloff witnessed on Tuesday, September 15. The BSE Sensex went up and gained even more by midday to cross the 74,384 level, while the Nifty 50 continued trading above 23,200 level. This happened following a 777.94-point drop or 1.04% drop to 74,003.82, which closed the Tuesday market session.

On Wednesday morning around 12:13 pm IST, the Sensex was quoted at 74,383.86, having risen 380.04 points or 0.51% from Tuesday's closing. It opened at 74,332.14, went up to an intraday high of 74,505.86
