India, Oct. 6 -- The BSE Sensex went up in Tuesday's market trading session on October 6, 2026, boosted by the rise in banks, finance, and some selected consumer sectors. Positive outlook was spurred by favorable conditions from the outside, reduced crude oil prices and good quarterly financial performance ahead of the RBI's monetary policy. The Sensex Index of 30 stocks opened at 72,508.05 as against the previous day's closing of 72,382.47. The stock market also witnessed the highest trading level of the day at 72,832.70, near 72,800, up by about 0.58%. The closing sensex for October 6 could not be obtained since it was not officially published, hence it will have to be provided after the closing of the markets.
