India, May 17 -- The rugby world was hit with a grave piece of news following the passing of Scotland centre Scott Hastings at the age of 61. A key figure during a strong era for the national side, he was widely respected for his fearless presence and influence at both club and international level.

He passed away peacefully in the intensive care unit of Edinburgh's Western General Hospital after complications from cancer treatment. In a heartbreaking coincidence, his death came on the birthday of his late wife Jenny, who died in 2024. But what was his career like?
